This is the wreath that makes people stop at your front door. A fat striped teal and cream base holds a smiling amigurumi reindeer, two golden bells with holly, a star, a little gift bag and a big red bow.

Put the wreath together

  1. Put the wreath flat on the table and place all the pieces before you sew or glue anything.
  2. Start with the big pieces: the reindeer head in the middle, the bow at the top and the bells on the upper left.
  3. Add the star on the left, the gift bag on the right and the poinsettia at the bottom in the middle.
  4. Fill the gaps with the pinecone, bauble, drum, disc and rolls.
  5. Sew the heavy pieces with strong thread through the base. Use hot glue for the light pieces. Hang the wreath on a ribbon.

Tips for success

  • Stuff firmly. Pieces that are too soft will droop on the wreath.
  • Use a stitch marker in every spiral round.
  • Take a photo of your layout before you sew.
  • Make a small wreath first. You can skip the reindeer for your first try and add 5 or 6 simple decorations.
  • Weave the ends inside the pieces before you stuff them.

Frequently asked questions

What skill level do I need?

Intermediate. You need sc, hdc, dc, working in the round and basic sewing. Each part is small, so you can make them one at a time.

How long does it take?

Plan on about 20 hours. The base takes about 3 hours, the reindeer 3 hours, the bells 2 hours and the other pieces the rest.

Can I make it smaller?

Yes. Use a 20 cm foam form, make the reindeer with a 2.5 mm hook and use 3 or 4 decorations.

Can I sell the wreath?

Yes, you can sell finished items. Please credit this website as the designer and do not copy or share the written pattern.
